Imagine 2500 people singing along to every word of every song by every performer, and you'll have some idea of the mania at
TribFest, in north Kildare over the August bank holiday weekend.
It's a curious affair. All the acts are tribute acts, as you might have guessed, all performing someone else's songs and music. You might think that strange, but people just want to go to a festival, hear their favourite songs and let their hair down. For example, on Friday night, starting with
IE/DC and on through to
Whiplash, we had a huge mosh pit right in front of the stage. It was glorious!
On Saturday, the front of stage was given over to the younger audience who sang and screamed (and they really could scream!) as
Taylor Swiftly performed! Earlier on Saturday, panties were thrown at
Tom Jones, but I'll say nothing more on that!
On Sunday evening,
Madonna brought us right back to the 90s with her slightly raunchy, but hit laden set. The temperature had only cooled down when night,
Roll With It brought the Oasis world tour to North Kildare and they were absolutely amazing. Listening to the whole audience singing "And so Sally can wait, she knows it's too late, as we're walking on by..." was just amazing.
So yeah, 3 days, 19 acts, and lots of fun, great weather, fantastic staff and a wonderful crowd, what more could you ask for? Roll on TribFest 2026!!!
Now it's photo time!
