I’m not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day. It brings to mind memories of someone in my past, and that makes me sad, so I tend not to bother with the day at all.
This year, though, was different. The fantastic team at All That Glitters Burlesque and Cabaret decided that Valentine’s Night was the perfect time to hold a show, and that’s exactly what they did.
The night was a mix of song, comedy and, of course, dance. I mean, it wouldn’t be burlesque without the dancing!
The audience, with a heady mix of love in the air and maybe a drink or two in their systems, lapped it up and cheered all night long. And why wouldn’t they? The lineup included Jayne Bane, Betty Beour, Michael Kierans, Poison Holly, Bambi Bang Bang, Slick O', Cida Arcanjo and, of course, Daria Décolleté — all amazing performers.
The ATG team are taking a break for a while, but fear not, they will return with a Halloween show, and you know that will be worth waiting for.
In the meantime, there’s no shortage of great shows all around the country, so go out and support them.
