Did you ever go to a burlesque or cabaret show wishing there was more to it than performers dancing whilst removing their clothes, risque performances from pole dancers, or bawdry songs from the singers?
No?
Me neither! However, I was wrong. What was missing was murder! Murder? Yes, murder! Tonight, in The Sugar Club, The Scarlett Collective, along with having absolutely everything you could want from a cabaret show, had a murder mystery built in to it.
All this was explained to the audience in before the show kicked off. There was nothing left to do but kick back, relax, enjoy the show and work out who the murderer was.
My job, on the night, was to take pretty pictures of the crowds during the many breaks and I have to say, the crowd turned out in style! Me? I was hiding in my normal black t-shirt. Maybe I should add some sparkles to it, or a feather boa. Maybe...
I'm not sure when their next event is on, but I would recommend keeping an eye on the socials! Oh and many congratulations to the fantastic Scarlett O’Whore-ah on coming up with something new for the Irish cabaret scene.
