I'd photographed Ailbhe Reddy earlier in the summer at Hibernacle Festival and we'd had a chat where I professed to being a fan.
So, emboldened by this new found friendship, I sent a cheeky reply to an Instagram post of hers, and this led me to photographing her show in the beautiful surrounds of the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
I guess the old adage of, if you don't ask, you don't get, rings true!
The National Concert Hall, as you can imagine, is an absolutely wonderful venue. Apart from being historically relevant, it looks great and sounds amazing!
Speaking of sounding amazing, Ailbhe was on fire tonight! Treating us to mainly new songs from her forthcoming, as of yet, untitled album, due in 2026, but with quite a few fan favourites thrown into the mix, I think everyone came away from the gig very happy and eager to get their hands on the new album!
If you haven't heard Ailbhe latest single Align, click on this link. If you get the chance to see Ailbhe live over the coming months, take it. You will enjoy it, and sure, have I steered you wrong yet?
Support on the night came from How I Became A Wave, a new artist to me. Slow, laid back, mellow... until Pat lets rip with his gravelly voice. Check them out!
Now for some photos:
