After the Valentine's All That Glitters Cabaret, there was no other All That Glitters show until October, when we'd have a Halloween spectacular. Yet here I was, in the lush surrounds of the Droichead Arts Centre in Drogheda, for Glamorama!
So, what happened? Well, after the success of previous nights, an offer was made that was simply too good to refuse, and the show moved up a notch into a theatre. Did it work out? Of course it did. The larger stage allowed for more extravagant performances, and the performers used every inch of it.
Our MC for the night was the wonderful Bonnie Boux, and somehow, tonight was my first time seeing her live. It most certainly will not be my last!
Who else performed? Well, it was a veritable who's who of the cabaret world with the boss of All That Glitters, Daria Décolleté, the magnificent voice of Barbara Vulso, and the incredible pole skills of Avatar Guille. Visiting from England, was the, quite literally, electric Cleopantha.
Had enough yet? No? Good, because we also had the supremely flexible Viola Gayvis, the multiple award-winning Bella Agogo, the fantastic aerial and circus skills of Kourtney Pavlov, and last, but most certainly not least, performer and aerialist, Lykan Productions.
The question that needs answering is: was the move to the larger theatre worthwhile? The answer is a resounding yes. Would I love to see this become an annual affair, a special one-off show alongside the regular shows in McHughs? Yes, oh yes I would.
Speaking of McHughs, All That Glitters returns there in October, and I think you'd be crazy to miss out.
Anyway, that's enough from me — now for the photos..
