I'm still working through my limitations as a photographer. As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm not very comfortable photographing models, so I had to do something to build my confidence. That's how I ended up signing up with Megashoot.ie.
It's one thing saying you're going to change; it's another thing actually doing it. At 6:00am on a cold, wet Saturday morning, nothing was going to get me out of bed. Nothing... except the chance to photograph some fantastic models on a beach!
It's Megashoot time again, and this time we're heading to Skerries Beach. The forecast isn't great, but it's Ireland, so who knows what will happen? Rain or shine, the shoot must go on.
I had booked sessions with four different models, none of whom I'd met before, so what could possibly go wrong? As it turned out, thankfully, nothing did. Over the course of the morning, we went from grey skies with drizzle and a strong breeze to blue skies and sunshine, although that strong coastal breeze never really let up.
The four models I was lucky enough to work with were absolute stars. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had some great suggestions throughout the morning. I hope – no, I think – we came away with some really good shots.
If, like me, photographing models is something you find challenging, why not check out Megashoot and sign up for their next event? It's free, and it's a fantastic way to meet other photographers and models, improve your skills, and build your confidence.
The fantastic models I worked with on the day were: Rachel, Amy, Maggie, and Joanna.
Anyway, enough of me talking - here are some of my favourite photos from the day:
