I don't go to a lot of album launches, but, when the album in question features one of my photos on the cover, you can be damn sure I'll be there!
Four years ago, in one of those limited COVID gigs, I photographed the Tolka Hot Club in Sin É, Dublin. Truth be told, I didn't think I'd get anything out of the gig, but it turns out, I captured an album cover...
The BelloBar is packed. Friends, families, musicians, punters, all here to see the Tolka Hot Club perform for the first time in ages, and to officially welcome their debut album, their eponymously titled, Tolka Hot Club.
Like a boxer getting back into the ring after a long layoff, you might expect the band to have a level of ring rust, but that, most certainly, wasn't the case. The band were relaxed, smooth and enjoying themselves. Probably the best I've seen them perform!
