Sometimes, most times, when photographing a gig, things go to plan. Tonight though, tonight was one of those nights when nothing worked out...
I've seen John Lynch perform before and thought he was fantastic, so, when I found out he had a show lined up in Naas, I knew I'd be going.
So, after work on Friday, I headed off to The Stores at 33 to catch the gig with some colleagues and I think it's safe to say, we had a great time; John is, as I mentioned previously, fantastic live. He's a born storyteller and entertained us with stories of his life in between songs.
Now, normally around about this time, I'd be posting some photos. Unfortunately, there are none from tonight. The lighting in the venue was just horrific, with the torso of the performer being bathed in rich purple light and the heads deep in shadow. I tried to rescue some of the shots, but honestly, they are just terrible.
However, I did grab a video of John performing Ordinary Man and you can check that out below!
